ENTERTAINMENT WORK

In addition to my work on behalf of brands as an Creative Director (Writer), I serve the role of Senior Development Executive on behalf of our client Waffle Iron Entertainment (Nike’s premium in-house entertainment studio) which is dedicated to the development and production of premium sports entertainment. These are not Nike ads. These are premium entertainment properties built for premium streamers like Netflix, Amazon, HBO Max, etc.

In this role, I evaluate incoming projects and opportunities, oversee creative development of projects from conception through production, create pitch materials for buyers, and collaborate closely with production partners and members of the entertainment industry’s creative community.

Currently we have a diverse slate that includes scripted feature films, documentaries, television series (scripted and unscripted), and even a podcast series.

I was also an Executive Producer on one of our films entitled LUCHA (link), that told the story of the women’s wrestling program of Taft High School in the South Bronx. Lucha was awarded the Grand Jury Prize at Doc NYC for the Metropolis section focused on films about or taking place in New York.

WIE’s second release, the doc-series PROMISE LAND focused on NBA superstar Ja Morant arrived on Crackle in June 2021. Most recently, WIE co-produced the doc-series ONE TEAM, ONE DREAM, following the Chelsea women’s football club, which released on DAZN in May 2022. Most recently, we’ve released HUSTLE RULE a podcast series about women’s soccer players willing to risk everything for a game; the series is hosted by Hannah Waddingham and based on the book Under the Lights and in the Dark, by Gwendolyn Oxenham.

Two years into its existence, WIE has garnered Sports Emmy and Critics Choice nominations as well as secured an unprecedented first-look development deal with AppleTV+ for all scripted sports films. Two years into its existence, WIE has garnered Sports Emmy and Critics Choice nominations as well as secured an unprecedented first-look development deal with AppleTV+ for all scripted sports films.
